Surface Designing Techniques

To create a translucent dreamy look, two layers of polyester nylon were stitched together with a topping of closely tied sequin buds. Chain stitches across the surface added to the serenity of the whole look.
A fiesta of sexy and playful colors was invented , by using threads of cut ribbon and passing them through alternate net holes. The whole look has a wonderful medley of geometry and fun.
The majestic bird of paradise - The Macaw was a key inspiration to this surface. Georgette and chiffon strips were the key ingredients to the melange of color , post stitch on net they were frayed to resemble the feathers of the great bird. 

Surface Explorations




The serene color blocking was pulled out by stitching frayed ribbon threads together with the dusky wooden texture of poplin cloth.

New patterns invented using a simple organic shape, to further form , innovative designs by mirror imaging, horizontal and vertical impressions.

Art Nouvue






Art Nouveau the era of style, poise, in the period of 1890- 1910. The inspired garments are an ode to the "New Style" , curls and the extraordinary and grand nature. The main procedure was an extensive use of adobe programs like Photoshop and Illustrator.

The Himachal Bird Through Himachali Craft





The serene beauty of Himachal Pradesh and the glory of the Himachal national Bird - Tragopan have been a key inspiration for this collection , the illustrations are created using color pencils, with soft strokes to cast the calmness the mountains with the boldness of the colors of the wild bird.

Contemporary Indian Design

An allowance of traditional means intertwined with the modern techniques of changing silhouettes ,and an addition of personal touch.
The inspiration of the historic Bihari -Sujhni and Madhubani , Oriya - Ikkat and Uttar Pradesi - Tharu Appliques were imprinted in the whole look of the garment. 
While the top is made of sophisticaed silk cloth with Tharu appliques and running stitches, the skirt is an embodiment of hard work with Madhubani painting in a running stitch.

The Pieta is the renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo. The famous work of art depicts the the body of jesus on the lap of mother mary,the sateau shows the detail work of drapes and purity. thus the purest form of fabric - Muslin was used to create the ensemble.

Draping Techniques


 A translucent Cloth used to drape the body, with an acute inspiration from the Greeks , ionic  style, the  knots on the shoulders give a loose impression of the former.
The skillful strokes of color pencils in the shades of navy blue on white , give a cute and girly motif which have been imprinted on a playful skirt and halter top.

A japanese inspiration, with a modern touch , the surface has the strokes of the intricate Japanese  art, in pencil sketching,  and draped in a loosley bound kimono style.
